Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale
The Friends of the Berkley Public Library will host their fall book sale on Thursday, October 19 (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.), Friday, October 20 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Saturday, October 21 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). The days and times for the sale are new this year! The sale will take place at Berkley Public Library located at 3155 Coolidge Highway in Berkley.
Cocktails and Coloring
Monday, October 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Ages 21+ are welcome to join us for cocktails and coloring at Amici's Pizza in downtown Berkley. We will have coloring pages, colored pencils, and markers available. Feel free to bring your own. Sprouting, Soaking & Microgreening: How to Make the Most of Nuts, Seeds & Grains
Tuesday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Fun fact: nuts, grains, and legumes are actually all seeds, which means they can be difficult to digest. Enter sprouting! Along with soaking and fermenting, sprouting techniques make seeds more edible and nutritious. During this program, we’ll talk about the science and nutrition behind sprouting as well as DIY methods of transforming seeds into tasty treats like nut milk, sourdough bread, and microgreens. We’ll also sample some made-more-nutritious foods you can find at the grocery store. Seeds: it’s what’s in almost every meal. Tale on the Trail: Halloween Themed

Come out to Jaycee Park for a fun evening of stories and play, co-hosted by the library and Berkley Parks & Rec, as we unveil the newest Tale on the Trail picture book, Duck & Goose Honk! Quack! Boo! by Tad Hills. Costumes are encouraged and there will be candy! Jaycee Park is located on Bacon Ave. between Webster Rd. and Morrison Ave.
Creatures of the Night

Ever wonder what goes bump in the night in Michigan backyards? This after-dark themed program focuses on the adaptations and behaviors of our nocturnal neighbors. The Howell Nature Center will bring four live animals as part of this presentation. Register online today or call 248-658-3440.
Family Movie: Smurfs – The Lost Village
Saturday, October 28 at 11:00 a.m.
In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting race through the Forbidden Forest leading to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history. This film is rated PG. We'll provide the popcorn! No registration needed.

This storytime is for those from 6 months to 18 months, with a parent, grandparent, or caregiver, for 20 minutes of stories, songs, and fingerplays and 25 minutes of playtime. No registration needed.

Sept. 12 through Oct. 10 & Oct. 24 through Nov. 14
This program includes 30 minutes of stories, activities, and a craft for children ages 3-6 who are able to participate without their adult in the room. Parents and others are asked to remain in the library during the program. No registration needed.

This storytime is for children from 18 months to 3 years, with a parent, grandparent, or caregiver, for 30 minutes of stories, fingerplays, songs, and activities. No registration needed.
