Petro grew up in a small suburban village northwest of Chicago, a place with strong sense of community and residents that maintained a sense of pride and morale foundation. This was the qualities that Berkley mirrored from his childhood that led him to open Republica Gastro-pub, in 2013. The small family owned establishment, nestled at the end of Coolidge Hwy corridor stands as a welcome to the city at large.

He is both excited and humbled at the opportunity to serve the community that, in a such short time, has brought him and his family into theirs.

I have owned Aero/Pacific Drapery for the past 25 years. I moved my store from Garden City to Berkley in 2007. Prior to the drapery business I was a CPA working in public accounting.

My wife Gail and I have lived in Huntington Woods for 26 years where we raised our three daughters. All three daughters are graduates of the highly acclaimed Berkley School district.

In whatever leisure time that I have, I enjoy running, biking and especially spending time with my wife, daughters and grandchildren.

In addition, I have served on the Berkley Board of Education for the last 6 years. I am very excited to be part of the growth of the Berkley Business district.
