MHG Jewelry Studio
Matthew Gross has been in the jewelry industry for the past 24 years. He first began his training as an apprentice at the age of 15 working as a polisher in a small independent retail jewelry store in the southeastern Michigan area. After graduating from high school, he furthered his education by attending the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica California in 1992. There he earned the distinguished degree of Graduate Gemologist. Matthew landed a position in Stamford Connecticut at a high-end retail jewelry store as the assistant appraiser and assistant designer. Within four months Matthew was promoted to chief appraiser and head designer. In 1995 Matthew opened MHG jewelry studio located in downtown Berkley. There he designs, repairs, and appraises jewelry. All of the work is done in his studio by himself and his assistant.

The Berkley Public Library was established in 1928 by the Berkley Women's Club. Its collection includes over 85,000 items including 60,000 hardcover books. Programming includes storytimes for toddlers and preschoolers, crafts for school age children and adult book discussions.

Bagger Dave's
Bagger Dave's Burger Tavern, or as we call it, Bagger's, was created by restauranteur Michael Ansley in 2008. Michael, a University of Dayton graduate, and his team, opened the first Bagger's location in Berkley, MI.
We wanted to create a celebrated “local” place that served fresh food, similar to early American taverns along the stagecoach trails while America was settling. What could be better than a tavern serving distinctive burgers, Belgian style hand-cut fries and local American craft beers?

Elwin & Company
Elwin & Company is a local Berkley Bakery that opened in the fall of 1990 as a small European-style cafe serving breakfast and lunch. One of the items which were baked daily were lemon poppy seed and currant scones.
In the spring of 1991 “Detroit Monthly” magazine voted Elwin’s scones “Best in Detroit.” Without knowing it, Elwin & Company became a scone factory, growing from four employees producing two dozen scones daily to more than 18 employees. Today Elwin & Co. produces anywhere from 600 to 1,200 dozen on an average day with more than 20 varieties, including fat free, reduced fat, savory, sugar free and trans fat free.
